Megawatt Charging System (MCS)

Cavotec’s Megawatt Charging System (MCS) is a turnkey DC charging solution with grid-to-inlet functionality that enables high-power charging of heavy-duty vehicles, machinery, and vessels.

MCS is a modular solution, offering both manual and automated connection options, providing up to 4.5MW charging power with a single MCS connector. Whether used for heavy-duty trucks, industrial vehicles, e-vessels or mining equipment, MCS delivers ultra-fast, reliable charging for operations that demand reduced downtime and maximised efficiency.

MCS Manual Dispenser

The MCS Manual Dispenser is specifically designed for high-power charging applications where manual handling is preferred or necessary. This flexible solution is ideal for sectors such as mining, construction, ports, and transportation, offering safe and efficient ultra-fast charging with up to 4.5 MW (1500VDC / 3000A).

MCS Connector and MCS Inlet

For automated operations or where repeated, high-frequency charging is required, the MCS Connector offers a seamless connection to the vehicle’s inlet. Supporting the same high-power output of up to 4.5 MW, the MCS Connector ensures safe, efficient and rapid charging for all types of heavy-duty vehicles and vessels.

The complete MCS solution consists of: 

  • a high-power electronic module, the “DC Megawatt Charger”
  • an MCS connector (incorporated into an MCS Manual Dispenser or Automated Connection System (ACS)
  • an MCS Inlet as a mating device located on the vehicle or vessel.
