Faster, safer, smarter mooring with MoorMaster™ NxG

Cavotec’s MoorMaster™ NxG redefines the way ships are moored in ports and terminals worldwide. Building on more than two decades of proven performance, the NxG introduces a new generation of automated vacuum mooring that combines powerful hardware with advanced digital intelligence — delivering faster, safer, and more sustainable mooring for every vessel call.

With its modular design, compact footprint, and intuitive human–machine interface, MoorMaster NxG is easy to install, operate, and maintain. At only 1,200 mm in depth, it is the most compact automated mooring system on the market — enabling simple retrofits in existing berths and installation even in space-constrained environments. The system’s smart control platform continuously monitors vessel and environmental data to ensure optimal grip and stability, automatically compensating for tides, swell, and draft changes in real time.

By eliminating the need for ropes and manual line handling, MoorMaster NxG enables true hands-free mooring — reducing turnaround times, increasing berth availability, and improving safety for crews and port personnel alike.

Unmatched safety

Removes manual mooring lines and minimises risk to personnel.

Rapid turnaround

Moor vessels in seconds for faster port operations and higher efficiency.

Smart automation

Advanced control algorithms optimise mooring performance under all conditions.

Compact design

Only 1,200 mm in depth — the smallest footprint in its class.

Sustainable operation

Reduced emissions from idling vessels and shorter port stays.

Proven Performance

A white paper from APM Terminals Tanger Med 2 (TM2) — one of the world’s most advanced container terminals — demonstrates how MoorMaster NxG delivers measurable efficiency gains in real-world operations. After replacing traditional mooring lines with automated vacuum mooring, TM2 achieved a 71% reduction in mooring time and 23% reduction in unmooring time, while improving crane productivity by up to 11% across more than 130,000 crane cycles. These improvements have translated into faster vessel turnarounds, more stable crane operations, and higher berth productivity.

As Keld Pedersen, Head of APMT Terminals Transshipment Hubs, notes:
“Thanks to MoorMaster, we achieved unprecedented operational efficiency. Mooring times have reduced by 70%, and the stabilisation of vessels resulted in a measurable increase in crane productivity.”
