More sustainable and compliant ports with shore power
Shore power—also known as cold ironing, shore-side electricity, or alternative maritime power—enables vessels to plug into land-based electrical grids while at berth. This eliminates emissions and vibrations from onboard generators, significantly improving local air quality and reducing noise pollution. By adopting shore power, ports can meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations such as CARB in California, AFIR in Europe, Harit Sagar Green ports Guideline in India while also supporting sustainable growth and creating cleaner, safer, and more efficient terminals that benefit surrounding communities.

PowerMove – Mobile Cable Management
A flexible, Mobile Cable Management System (MCMS) dedicated to passenger and cargo terminals such as cruise, car-carrier, and RoRo. PowerMove is a cable management platform facilitating efficient and reliable ship-to-shore connections, while maintaining the priority of passenger and cargo. Multiple configurations, managing up to five shore power cables, are available to suit different berth layouts and vessel types, based on Cavotec’s unique expertise developed over 35 years.

PowerReach – Fixed Jib Crane CMS
A stationary, space-efficient Cable Management System (CMS) designed for quick and reliable power connections at fixed points along the berth. PowerReach is ideal for terminals where vessels consistently dock in the same position, enabling automated or semi-automated operations without manual cable handling.

PowerRun – Cable Reel-Based CMS
A compact and versatile Cable Management System (CMS) using motorised cable reels, PowerRun is ideal for smaller vessels such as tugboats, OSVs, ferries, and tankers. Its modular design allows for customised configurations to meet diverse operational and spatial requirements.

PowerFeed – Fixed Shore Socket Boxes
A shore-side junction/socket box designed for connection directly with a vessel, or for interfacing with Mobile Cable Management System (MCMS) unit. PowerFeed is configurable for use above ground or below ground, ensuring seamless integration with any terminal infrastructure. PowerFeed is the inflection point for your shore power system.

PowerExtend & PowerAlign – Mobile Socket Box Systems
These shore-side socket box positioning systems allow flexible alignment with vessel connection points along the quay. PowerExtend and PowerAlign simplify operations by bringing the power interface to the vessel, enhancing adaptability and reducing manual intervention.

PowerRange – Telescoping Cable Management System
A telescoping Cable Management System (CMS) engineered for extended reach requirements involving one or two shore power cables. PowerRange is available as a fixed and mobile solution and is ideal for terminals where flexible cable deployment over long distances is required. PowerRange is best suited for military and ferry shore power systems and has been implemented for over 15 years.

Custom CMS – Engineered for Unique Challenges
For terminals with non-standard layouts, vessel types, or operational requirements, Cavotec offers fully customised Cable Management System (CMS) solutions. Leveraging decades of engineering expertise, we design and deliver bespoke systems tailored to specific shore power needs.
